Is there any way to speed up or automate this?!

I’ve never been able to say yes… until now. 

I recently started experimenting with chatbots to help build prospect lists. Trying both ChatGPT and Perplexity.ai (both have free versions), I found Perplexity gives me more on-target lists – with links to the exact pages I need.

I asked the chatbots to give me a list of companies, per my parameters, and it did!

What Does a Prospecting Query Look Like?

As an example, I asked Perplexity to create a list of companies in the healthcare industry.

The chatbot came back with 10 companies that sell products and services to healthcare organizations and included links to the pages of their sites with customer stories.

If customer stories are on their site, I already know the company values and invests in them. They may have a writer already, but it’s also possible they may need a writer – now or soon – for various reasons.

That gives me a fantastic start on a targeted prospecting list. 
 

How Do You Get Better Results?

If the search results aren’t quite right, try refining your question to be more specific. You can add descriptors like “mid-size” or get even narrower with the type of company you’re looking for.

Play around with it and see how results change as your queries change.
